Interesting but strange??

May 29, 2006 · Leave a Comment

This is the strangest bathroom that I've ever seen! First there was this room with the tackest green couches.

Green Couch/bathroom

Then you walk into the very pink bathroom and you are greeted with two toilets that are in line with the sinks. Yes, in the open, with no stall or curtains. There was along the other wall more, but they (thankfully) had stalls with doors and locks. I guess if I was desperate enough….I'd be tempted to use one of the open ones.

Oh Stink!

May 21, 2006 · Leave a Comment

So I go to do the Chapter 2 test for my Geology class and realize that I have the wrong edition textbook! The 8th Edition is what I need NOT the 7th Edition that I have. Just what I need, another expensive textbook. OH wait, my brother tells me that I can get it off of e-bay for cheap! Yay! I just hope it comes in quickly so that I can do my reading for the class. See I was using my brother's Geo book from a few years ago and thought that it was the same book. Well it is, just not the right edition. The first chapter was the same, though. If I knew for sure that there wasnt a huge difference I would just keep the one that I've got, but Chapter 2 is missing sooooooo much! So now I wait for my bro to show me how to use e-bay.

I Need an Idea…

May 18, 2006 · 2 Comments

I just found out, by looking through all of the course documents, that I have to write a huge research paper for my Geology class. I need some ideas as to what I’ll write it on. This is the guidelines for the project, well some of them.

The purpose of the course project assignment is give you experience in researching the sustainability of important geologic resources we use everyday. By sustainability I mean that a resource will be around for future generations. By resource I mean something that is taken from the earth by humans, such as soil, minerals, parks (recreation), or oil and natural gas; the list goes on Think about what you use in everyday life that comes from the earth. You can probably name dozens of items you consume everyday that have their origin in/on the earth.

I was thinking of doing it on oil, but if any of you guys have an idea of something else that I could do it on please please please let me know.

My Day…

May 17, 2006 · 1 Comment

Well today I had to go down to the police station to get a local background check aka a criminal search(I think that is what she called it). Oh this is all for my new job at La Petite Acadamy. Well I first had to go to the Clerk of the Circut and County Court for the background/criminal check. The lady was really nice and it went smoothly. She was like "You are not even in our system, AT ALL." I thought that was funny. I haven't had a ticket or anything in all my years driving. And of course not in trouble with the law for any reason. It cost me $10.50 to get that taken care of. The next stop was actually to La Petite to get the card that the fingerprints go on, and then it was back to the same place only the building next door. The police station. The lady in there scared me. Seriously. The guy was nice that did my fingerprints. It was kinda cool cause there was no ink involved, it was all done on a computer machine thing. And it printed the fingerprints right onto the card. Nifty. It cost me $5.00 to get that done. Then I began my quest to find an iced vanilla latte. I found it at Barnes and Noble. It was pretty tasty!

Homework #1

May 16, 2006 · 3 Comments

Ok so the way that my prof of my Astronomy class has the homework set up is that there is a pre-homework and a real-homework. They are the exact same question(s) and are timed for the same amount of time, 15 minutes. I was totally expecting a super hard question but this is what I got:

Which unit of measurement is best for specifying the distance between Miami and Atlanta?

A. meter

B. kilometer

C. astronomical unit

D. light year

First person to answer it correctly wins!!!!

My Reading Goal…

May 16, 2006 · Leave a Comment

ok so I am totally stealing the idea of having a Summer reading list from someone…sorry, it's just such a grand idea. So these are the books that I'd like to read this Summer:

Sahara: I won't embarass myself and tell you when I started this book. Let's just say it's been a while. It IS a good book, I just get distracted with other books.

Mere Christianity: Besides the Chronicles of Narnia, I haven't read any of C.S Lewis's books. So I thought that I'd start with this one.

Blink: A book by Ted Dekker that I bought last night and started to read last night. It's really good and I am only a couple chapters in. I'll probably finish it before Sahara.

Chronicles of Narnia: I would love to read these again. It has been a while since I have read them. My mom has them convienantly all in one book so it looks like it's just one big 766 page book.

The Visitation: The only Peretti book lying around my house that I haven't read yet. It looks good.

Along with these books, I have an Astronomy and Geology textbooks that I have to read. Oh and I'll probably read some christian romances that I have around here. I'll have to post what reading I get done at the end of the Summer, to see if I finished my list or not. I even cut the list short! There are a few(more like alot) more books that I want to read. But I think 11 books is a good size list.

Geology and Astronomy

May 15, 2006 · Leave a Comment

These are the classes that I am taking this summer. I am kinda excited, but I am going to a secular college so it will be interesting when they focus on the history of when the Earth and the Universe and when/how they were created. Already, my first "homework" for Geology includes the question: "How old do you think the Earth is?". Hmm I wonder how I will answer this question?? Since it is an online course and I will never actually see the teacher and classmates….I might actually be brave and just say what I think. Any suggestions on how I can go about doing this?
